Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

I'm supposedly October (originally June) build. My latest email to Customer Care asking for an update has not had a reply.

I'm getting close to cancelling as I need to go abroad for a few weeks/months and it's getting to the point where I simply won't be around to pick up the car. It would be a sad end to a journey that started with a dealer deposit in April 2021.

Oh well - first world problems and all that. I'm sure someone would find a caring home for my Nimbus - one day!
Just like most people on forum i am waiting to here when i can book a test drive and one day collect or have my Emira delivered , we have missed the summer and now just hope to here some positive news before Christmas .
I have been told October build - November delivery , but i know there are lots other people ahead of me so i think things are not looking so good !
Think some people may get moved forward as I for one now being a November delivery will probably bump into 2023 the excitement has just dwindled and dwindled with complete lack of engagement from Lotus and reading driver reviews don’t think I’ll be so hyped that I must have this car in my life immediately - she’ll be just housed in garage over winter anyway ❄️
#the never ending saga

How did you find out about the extra delay? Did Lotus contact you?
I emailed CC last week and that was my response. Lots of apologies but it’s a pain for planning. CC are always friendly and responsive. I sold my M4 a year ago expecting to be in an Emira by now.

Good work. I was 10k down over 3 years which I would have taken before I bought it. Peugeot Partner daily driver isn’t much fun though..

i am Oct build / Nov delivery - (from july-Aug) but when this was communicated to me a few weeks ago, I had already decided to delay to 2023 as I have no interest in a sports car in Winter. I didn't communicate this to Lotus as I had no faith the Oct date would be kept anyway.
Like many, my biggest regret is selling the previous car (an Evora 400) far too early and not realising the delay was gonna drag on and on.
The Elise S1 has now become a daily driver but as the weather turns I need to get a cheap run-around instead.

Lotus are at risk of very unlucky timing of being hit again by a major economic downturn which will result in many cancelled orders. This will self perpetuate as this will then result in the speculators cancelling too.
Once Spring arrives, the world could be a very different place.

Yep agree 100%. For all those waiting since the beginning the enthusiasm is waning. Sure there will be people (like me) who come along and join the party but the global economic conditions we certainly result in many cancellations as our "fun money" vanishes and responsibility once again reins. Plus this "new" sports car will be a few years old by the time we start seeing them in numbers and other exciting new rides may well come about which will further erode the exuberance over the Emira. For now though, I'm still excited. If '24 comes around and my garage is still empty I fear that excitement will be long gone.

My November build, December delivery has today been moved to ‘sometime in 2023’. V6 manual. 11th July deposit. I’m now for the first time considering other options.
I no what you mean. My deposit was October 19. My original build/delivery was February/March. Even being a Lotus enthusiast for many years, I am getting fed up with this and I have been looking at some options. Many dealers for other products have bent over backwards to get me into one of there cars. Cars, I am assured, you can actually test drive then drive it home. Something that seems a very long way of dealing with Lotus.

Email from CC today. Tone has changed a bit from a more upbeat message a month or so ago…

At present, based on the information we have available you are scheduled for October production with a November estimated delivery. Please be advised that no delays are confirmed currently, but this may be subject to change.

We are currently in discussions with the factory in regards to production wait times and orders due. Please bare with us whilst we finalising some details as we get further information for you. As soon as more details are confirmed we will be in touch regarding the process of your reservation.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

Same here! I sold my G82 at the beginning of this year for a very nice gain when I wanted to get an Emira. Ended up finding a GT4 allocation in May. It started production today, actually, and gets delivered on November 11th. I know Porsche isn't everyone's cup of tea around here, but they will deliver you a car when they say so.

Are they now working naked at lotus?

This is definitely the pre-cursor to another delay. Oh joy….

ouch...have to agree that doesn't bode well.

I had a conversation with someone today who has spoken to someone they know very well who saw several transporters being loaded with Emiras, at the factory, in the last few days............

I would agree, that does not sound good, with October starting tomorrow, you would expect that they would know more. The fact that they use the word discussions, sounds more like some kind of delicate negotiations than a manufacturing environment that will have a clear production schedule. Even if they do build them in October, we have the great unknown of the Unipart PDI process to contend with. I can't see that Unipart will have the volume of staff on hand to deal with a sudden and large influx of cars. I can imagine that they will be able to ramp up eventually, but not quickly as they have to contend with the general recruitment difficulties nationwide. You can be pretty sure that Unipart will not have staff standing around with their hands in their pockets.

Dealer demo cars perhaps? Or more going overseas?

Given a lot of us have an October build slot with November delivery (too many in my opinion) - surely it should now be possible for CS to make contact to confirm my build has been scheduled for x date and expected delivery would be x with more to follow in lines of the email process thats been mentioned already in the group?

I simply don’t understand; if everything is still on schedule and with so many of us expecting delivery in November, why we‘re not able to get some kind of confirmation or more positive feedback.

Surely to hit the promised dates/targets our build slots must be finalised and/or a least scheduled by now?

If the October special 9 still have no idea about delivery, surely there are more delays?

Really don’t want to be negative (sorry), i would just love some feedback even if it now December, please just tell me.

Has anyone had anything back from CS with actual dates? Are build slots etc. something I’ve just made up and it doesn’t work like that? I’ll take anything at the moment...
I’m part of what was the September crew. Got similar email from CS this afternoon but with ‘please rest assured that your vehicle is soon to be finalised in production’ ………. SOON!

I mean the world has gone to shit and its not getting any better. I would expect more delays. I dont want them as I was supposed to get my car next month, but it is what it is. Cars have already been delivered, so yes there are people that have had their notice and received their vehicles, they just seldom, if at all post on this forum.

I agree they just need to come out and tell us, the game is getting old.

I spoke to CC today after hearing the news that someone had been pushed from Nov build to 'sometime in 2023 and I was advised that currently my Nov build is still unchanged.

As others have mentioned, they also confirmed that they were in discussions with the factory to find out about any potential delays and that anyone effected would be updated in due course (or was it 'soon' 😂)

I asked if any UK customer cars were completed and was told that loads were and that several customers had arranged finance and done the final checkout and were awaiting delivery....

I was also told that dealer cars should be ready for test drives by 14th Oct.

'Several' ie half a dozen
'Completed ' 100s but not actually road worthy until late Nov/Dec

That certainly reads as "there's probably a delay for some people but I don't know if you're affected or by how much yet".

The build schedule for October was supposedly finalised about 2 weeks ago, which I assumed meant they had all the necessary parts or knew they were it final stages of inbound (eg at port awaiting customs clearance).

With Sept build people still not having cars in production or getting their checkout email it sounds like sadly there are further delays.

The UK dealers have already been told they are likely to get just one demo car and no showroom car for 3-6 months, so shortages are affecting those too. It does sound like several dealer demos have been through PDI (B&C demo has arrived today) and some are in PDI at the moment.
