Where are you guys buying the Turbo unmonitored (2nd ) bypass pipe from? I don't see it offered on the GRP site.

Just fitted this
Took a few hours (the hardest part was figuring out how to get the oem downpipe out) the sound is incredible and my power in the performance display now goes up to 420HP FROM 381HP
The only gripe is the mounting to the side plate with the notch and two bolts is 25mm out, i will try and fit some spacer tube and longer bolts, other than that no CEL and car pulls like a train with explosive cracks on gear change.
The car now just goes and goes to redline i’m very impressed with the additional throttle response
I have a miltek valve controller fitted, with the valve set to open the noise on start up is loud and powerful the exhaust pops and crackles when the gas pedal is blipped in park.
Sounds good. Did you need new gaskets and bolts, to fit the Sports Cat, my local Lotus service centre, says that it would need them?

No direct unbolt and rebolt there are no gaskets to replace?
Thanks, I don’t know much about working on cars. When I asked the Lotus service centre, about fitting the cat for me, they quoted me well over £2000, which included removing the turbo, replacing the gaskets and bolts. My brother who does most of his own car stuff, thought, removing the turbo was unnecessary, and all that was required was to do as you had described i.e unbolt and rebolt.

You don’t need to remove the turbo. We removed part of the turbo to get the cat out, but I’m told you can do it without even doing that.

The circled part can be removed, then the cat can be removed through the access panel in the trunk, without removing any of the turbo. This is what I was told, not what we did when fitting my cat.

I also only un clamped the hot side of the turbo, it made removal easy.

Cheers, I appreciate the reply from you, and lynchy 73, this will be useful to know when I come to have the cat fitted.
Have your brother fit it and you help, i’m sure you will enjoy the experience and also give you a better insight of the vehicle, it will take you a few hours only especially as you have the benefit of information from people who fitted there own, i fitted it cold without any instructions on the floor without ramps, i only jacked up the rhs rear wheel.
I confidently can say that i would be able to do the job again in under 2 hours with the knowledge of doing it before.

That’s what I meant say :) I didn’t do the job myself, was just keeping an eye whilst others did the job.

Apparently it is easy if you remove that part I circled above. Only got this info after it was all done, so not too sure about the details.
