Further delays?

I wonder if this is going to push the January production/March deliveries to further out for us in the USA.
If the prioritised LHD parts for Europe and China can also be used for building US spec cars, then you may be fortunate and not experience further delays. Meanwhile, the UK depositers' dates just keep sliding further away. I'll be very surprised if the December build January delivery actually comes to fruition for many of us.

Although, theoretically why are we getting a checkout email.if not complete....
I was told my car was 'in production' when my checkout email was sent, although I suspect that could mean anything from the parts have arrived to it is being valeted post PDI.

Not had an email. But I was supposed to be Jan build / Feb delivery. Which would make it March build / April delivery. I’m sure I won’t be the only one frustrated if it’s delayed again.

Again, I will repeat... I would rather take the Lotus approach of delays over Porsche's... Our suppliers don't have it, so you don't get it. No ands or buts... oh and you have delays as well. I will wait for Lotus and get exactly what I ordered.
Completely agree (again) ... we're buying a product rooted in emotion and personalisation, not a meatbag conveyance unit for getting the kids to their respective indoctrination facilities!

Accept No Substitutes! :)

Porsche delays are far worse than Lotus and no improvement in the near future. I recently visited a Porsche dealership that I purchased serval cars form and their showroom had no new 911s or 718s. I inquired about ordering a 911 and the manager told me at least a year out if not longer. I’m sticking with my Emira FE order.

Absolutely. Mercedes does this too. I bought one with a package that was supposed to have larger brakes and realized two months into ownership that it just had the standard brakes. When I asked about this irregularity with the dealer, they said it was a parts shortage and that I "wasn't charged" for the bigger brakes.

That's BS.

My deposit was also 7th July 21.

It doesn't particularly bother me having the car in March as opposed to January but surprised that the shift has come so late into December with, realistically, just 8 working days to go. Makes me wonder how many will be delivered between now and March.

Hopefully Harry will cheer us up with his next video release.........
Mine was same date. Checkout email Monday so would presume a mid Jan delivery rather than the previous related Nov build Dec delivery.
Still not bad though

Blimey, at this rate: my i4 Dec 2023 build will be pushed to 2024! I have never had such a wait for a car….. ah well….. kettle on, feet up and refit my garage in 2023 then…

I was in touch with LCS this week, in respect to my car delivery, trying to improve from April build to earlier. Ha ha. Fat chance!!! Their response was:

The delays we are experiencing are due to part shortages and supply issues. Factory have reviewed the production numbers several times and shrank it’s capacity to reflect more realistic delivery estimations, accommodating the part supply that we have. With that being said, the new delivery estimations are more accurate, and we are likely to achieve these estimations, given that there aren’t further supply issues.

So I guess that and the issue they have with other markets - North America campaign, earmarked for the new year, as our colonial cousins are expecting their cars from March onwards. UK market will suffer to appease this important market for them.
Every time there is a delay, Lotus say their new date estimates are more accurate and much less likely to change. After 6 delays communicated like this, I stopped believing them.

It's like in medical practice. The Czech Association of Doctors issued a door sticker: "The time for which the patient is booked is the time when he begins to wait for treatment by a doctor. The actual time when he will be examined is decided by the doctor according to the urgency of the cases of individual waiting patients." :ROFLMAO:

Just received an update on what was meant to be December build/January delivery :-

——————
Unfortunately we have fallen behind ever so slightly with production and the latest information shows that your Production will begin in February with a March delivery.
This does mean the vehicle will be registered as a 2023 plate car.

We apologise for the further delay in your production timeline.

Anyone else been impacted at this late stage?
So “ever so slightly” in Lotus talk equals 2 months! I hope they never have a big delay.

You have to re-calibrate their use of terminology to indicate timeframes versus their previous use of "soon" :)

Have yiu had the enhance and protect email?

Mine came last week saying my car will go into production Jan 23

Of course that doesn't mean it actually will

I had mine on 05 Dec, but it didn’t say anything about production dates. Just details of the options.

You're right I'm getting them mixed up, my 24th November email said Jan build but my 9th December p&e email doesn't mention it. I'll await delay number 5... or is it 6? I can't remember tbh.

It's past embarrassing for lotus now. If they delay me again and then put the APR up again, as much as I want the car, I'm not sure I want to continue being made a fool of.

We have fallen behind ever so slightly LOOOOOOL 2 fucking months.....

Lotus just go on your Christmas holidays and when you get back in 2023 pull your fingers out FFS.
If they shut down for Christmas that would be a disgrace

I mean for any length of time beyond the bank holidays

Do they not take a full week off? I believe I heard that somewhere.
