I ordered my car in U.S. the moment of unveiling in July 2021. Was told I was the first order in my home state. During the test drive Oct 22 I was told by the Lotus rep, not the dealer, that my car had already been produced and would deliver March 23. I inquired with the dealer and Lotus directly this week about the status of delivery. No one knows. The latest is that the head of sales for Lotus USA will be going to the factory in 3 weeks and perhaps I will receive info regarding my specific car when he/she returns. I love the Lotus brand and have owned 3 in the past. I'm feeling less confident by the day that ordering the Emira was a good decision. I made a parts run today to a well managed Porsche Dealership which reminded me of how a great brand operates.Just received an update on what was meant to be December build/January delivery :-

Unfortunately we have fallen behind ever so slightly with production and the latest information shows that your Production will begin in February with a March delivery.
This does mean the vehicle will be registered as a 2023 plate car.
We apologise for the further delay in your production timeline.

Anyone else been impacted at this late stage?

I don't believe the Lotus rep lied to me. I can only imagine the complications all car manufacturers experienced over the last 2 years. That said, would appreciate updates to future U.S. car owners, even if it's bad news...its informative and reassuring.Sorry they lied to you, it was 100% not already produced. I would be EXTREMELY surprised if they actually had some way to get the vehicles to the USA. I am guessing they dont even have any agreements with the boats to ship them over.
So you think that your US car was in fact already produced in October? This would be very odd. Keep us posted on what you hear back.I don't believe the Lotus rep lied to me. Same observation here. Shipping times have been "normal" for the past 6 months for us and pricing is down to about pre-pandemic levels for a standard 40' container. US domestic warehouse operations and trucking is still a bear depending on the market. But that's a different story than international intermodal shipping.Read this on my corvette forum, awesome to read, info is free so accept accordingly
”I know a guy” cause I’m from jersey
The supply chains are becoming more liquid and consistent. I’ve a friend whose an international supply chain specialist with the USG, works with the longshoreman and he’s telling me they’re starting to see the turn around time in clearing shipping containers becoming more normalized as compared to C19 pre-lockdown. As such, fwiw, he predicted normalized shipping turn around times by the summer of 23 for 99% of the shipping traffic. Time will tell!!
So it’s awesome or still sucking? I’m confusieSame observation here. Got it. I have a CDL should I help out?Getting stuff loaded onto a ship, sailing across the oceans, and unloading at a US port: awesome. Once the trucker pulls it out of the container yard in the US: sucking begins.
