Further Delays

Because I insisted on a test drive as I chose sport, and Harry and lots of others pushed tour. So I needed to check myself.
Then Lotus came back and unilaterally decided that I would be pushed into a 2023 delivery - so I have been pushed back ever since.
Even, with a contact at Lotus nothing would sway them - even with the help of Tom.
So there we have it.
I’m a pre reveal and had many lotus cars, cancelled last week. Can’t see myself attempting to buy from Lotus again. Sad but head finally overruled heart.

Speaking as someone who is also 71, if you've waited this long, why stop just short of the finish line? Give it a few more months, you'll be fine. I placed my deposit July 11 2021 and I'm in it to win it. I've waited this long, I want this car!
I agree. I'm not as old as you are but am a senior citizen. Yes, time is ticking, but there are so many other things out there that keep me entertained.

Just been advised (only because I asked again, the promised monthly updates since November haven't been happening, of course) that my "first batch" UK i4 is now September 2023 production, October 2023 delivery (Goodwood 2021 Thursday deposit).....

I'm so sorry to hear that. That must be really frustrating to hear. I can't help but wonder how many orders they collected through then. It can't be more than 1000... right? After factoring in various cancellations, that should just be "hundreds" of vehicles. Here's hoping that they are being conservative with this time quote.

Yesterday was told I had a slight delay but the impression was that Feb could still be achievable for delivery (definitely thought that’s a bit optimistic). Told today that I’m not on the checkout list for Feb, so means car will be in March.

I’m turning over a new leaf and trying to stay positive, so fingers crossed that’s the last of the delays!

LCC have just confirmed (on a Sunday afternoon- must be busy 😬) that as expected my Feb build/March delivery has slipped by a month. Hopefully give them a chance to iron out some of the issues the early cars are suffering ….

Was that an email , or did you call them ? I’m (or maybe was) feb build and mar del !

I've had email replies to 2 emails sent earlier in the week today (Sunday) too - plus points for working at the weekends, minus points for not answering all of the questions asked though - feels like boilerplate click and reply tools are being used now....

That’s actually a positive even though it’s a delay (well, for the greater good) IF the chatbot theory isn’t true.

I'm January build, I know I'm not, but only because I called them, there's been no communication instigated by them at all. So unless someone logged I called, which I massively doubt, they're happy for me to sit here thinking my cars been built

Ah, that`s interesting as i am(was) an October build. Haven`t had any updates yet either that the date has slipped further.

But.... based on experience so far i`m expecting it to move again, again, again and again. Until i see that they have actually produced a working car in the UK and they are on their way to dealerships for test drives i`m not holding out much hope for any given date to be hit.

I was January build, just phoned them and they said now delayed into February build with delivery in March.

After hearing of more delays on this forum, was told previously Feb build, I decided to ring cc for an update. Well well, I’m now March build, apparently due to production issues not parts supply. I would have hoped by now after all the communication issues they might start to improve - obviously not! It seems this buying experience is gonna be no different to my last two bmw M2’s, very disappointing.

I've now given up.. I will wait for the invoice and then expect further delays due to payment time issues. I was expecting it in January, told that twice, and now just told it will be in February. I just laughed.

You do know they've had dealer demos and been delivering customer cars (slowly) for months now?
