I4 Delivery Date USA/Canada Updates

The first reviewer not to complain of the paddle shift delays :) and it did seem quick enough (20:09 timestamp in video).

Did Lotus improve that or is it just slow when comparing to other cars?

There was never any shift delays as the unit comes sealed from ANG so it shift just like it did in a A45S. But because of the slow OS and different datapath. It's take a fraction of a sec longer for the signal from the shift paddle to reach the TMU. There was an update that was released to address that since most of the earlier press reviews but I don't know they they managed to improve it to the same level as in an A45S. Also a signal delay is someone you can anticipate and adopts to vs an actual delay in the gear shifts.

I had heard that the paddle shift delay was addressed. I watched that video of his shifting…. Seemed quicker than last years video of the shifting. We are grasping at straws here for sure…...this is all part of the Lotus experience. 😂. It’s like a big surprise…. Ha ha

Wonder if it's an actual single path delay or just sloppy ECU code with poor/slow processors, if this is the case perhaps the code just needs to be seriously cleaned/optimized up to remedy a 8/10th of sec delay to get to the AMG cars responsiveness. Theoretically the paddle shift signal should travel to ECU in a nanosecond .

There are grill inserts in the side intakes... 🤔 only for the i4 or just manufacturer builds?

Actually the delay in the early press review is pretty much the same as when you click anything on the touchscreen so it's probably the slow OS/processor but the only reason to go through the OS is to update the gear number on the instrument panel so they may have figured out a way to route the shift signal more directly to the TMU.

With all the US 14 videos popping up and knowing that there're 10 i4 in the US/Canada. I pinged my sales contact to see if they will get access to one for test drives. While he's checking on that. He passed on the i4 is already in production and they expect 1st delivery in 8 weeks in the West Coast.
Looks like it passed EPA in June. CARB should be close behind, maybe just not reported yet.

Not the i4, but I just confirmed my spec (9/28/24) with dealer for the 2025 V6 and have been given a March/April delivery date. Question for the group, is everyone being charged the $2350 destination/freight fee.

thanks in advance !

That is what I was told it would be, a while ago. Still expecting that amount as my dealer hasn't changed the "out the door" price I was quoted at the same time.

I had the same Q. That’s a standard fee.

Me too, seems standard.

Manufactures destination change is a standard add on to MSRP by manufacturers. While they (automobile manufacturers) set their own fa level. It is a standard charge to cover car shipping and prep to the dealers door.

Watching the news- Port strike to set to start Tuesday Oct 1 at noon. Hopefully our ship with the 1st batch of i4s is already at port and can be unloaded Monday.

Does anyone know the VIN’s of the I4’s or others that may have arrived at port ? 🤓

Welp, the port strike has begun first time since 1977. They are asking for 70% wage increase over 6 years and total ban on automation.... who knows how long this will last.
What are the odds that our ship made it the Baltimore port and was unloaded today? (probably low) stinks. Was looking forward to getting the car before winter.

I have a feeling our cars are sitting on a ship 🚢. I think their asking for no automation is gunna be the biggie. Port in Shanghai has automation and is now 30% more efficient…. Which is a lot(10 hours faster unload on a massive cargo vessel).
I get the issue about protecting workers, but not sure artificially limiting efficiency is a long term solution on the world market. It’s a tough situation.

And the 70% pay raise!!!

Update from Lotus (this morning) to XYZ dealership... Carb Approval will finalize Dec or beginning Jan... I4's will start arriving at dealer within days of the approval. The 10 cars in the US are in lockup... Used for a showing recently but put back in lockup pending Carb.
