Sorry that I'm probably late to the party here but why is it seemingly so hard to get Type Approval for an auto?

There’s a backlog at the approvals body and no incentive for them to go any quicker. Combined with earlier delays with supply of auto gearboxes meaning the testing and submission was done later than the one for Manual.

Just been told I am now November build/December delivery, moved from October/November. I was expecting a much longer delay than that so happy days . Rather academic for me though as the car will be tucked away in the garage until spring - the roads around me high up in the Borders are a lovely combination of ice, grit salt, cowshit and mud over the winter

At least you’re “only” delayed another 1 month. Mines +2 months - keeps getting further away.

It obvious why yours is so delayed - your the first to receive the facelift model it’s got to have had at least 4 iterations in the 4 years that you’ve been patiently waiting - whole new interior and sound system as well
